Anya L Arthurs
Anya Arthurs is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working in the Pregnancy, Health and Beyond Laboratory headed by Professor Claire Roberts. After completing her PhD in the field of post-transcriptional modifications in the placenta, Anya moved to Flinders in 2019, studying the mechanisms by which circular RNAs, as well as other non-coding RNAs, can affect the development of the placenta and contribute to pregnancy complications. Anya’s research utilises genetic manipulation and other molecular biology techniques to better understand the placenta and pregnancy health. From her research, she hopes to elucidate molecular mechanisms contributing to pregnancy complications which will inform the development of diagnostic tests and novel therapeutics. Anya has attracted >$70,000 of funding as an Early Career Research and is an involved member of many scientific committees. She in on the board of human and animal ethics committees at Flinders University and has been Scientific Meeting Convener for the SA Australian Society for Medical Research.
