Matti L Gild
Dr Matti Gild is a Staff Specialist in Endocrinology at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney and a Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Sydney. Her PhD focussed on signalling pathways in RET altered medullary and papillary thyroid cancers. She completed a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in the laboratory of Prof James Fagin. Matti chairs the Thyroid Cancer Research Group at the University of Sydney which facilitates translational research projects. Her clinical research is focussed on de-escalation of treatment and optimising patient outcomes in thyroid cancer where she supervises both PhD and MD students. She maintains her basic science platform investigating genetic drivers of thyroid cancer at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research. Matti is a representative on the ESA early career and USyd EMCR committees.
