Intrauterine neuroimmune modulation of the Uterus-Brain Axis (#160)

We’ve all heard about the Gut Brain Axis. How immune activation in the gut influences our central nervous system, and the way we experience pain, mood disorders and wellbeing. But what about the immune Axis between the Uterus and the Brain? Have you ever thought that your uterus influenced your pain or how you feel?  Or that your immune system might be involved?

Could excess immune activation in the uterus be the cause of multiple conditions more common in women than men?

And could we modulate the Uterus-Brain Axis to treat these conditions?

This presentation will discuss the link between the multiple symptoms of Pelvic Pain Syndrome and evidence that these are mediated by excess activation of the Uterus-Brain Axis
